Grant Kissel is a Licensed Professional Counselor who received his Bachelor’s degree from Indiana University of Pennsylvania, and his Master’s degree from Chatham University in Counseling Psychology. He has 9 years of experience working as an outpatient therapist in the community health and private setting with older children, adolescents, adults, couples, and families. Grant has been employed in the mental health field for the last 10 years and also worked as a Drug/Alcohol Therapist and at Torrance State Hospital. Grant specializes and has extensive experience with Duel Diagnosis, Addiction Recovery, Adult/Adolescent Males, Anxiety Disorders and Severe Mood Disorder populations. Grant also has gained experience counseling clients with a wide variety of mental health concerns and life issues in the last 9 years. These populations include clients with panic, depression, anger management issues, grief/loss, family issues, behavior problems, trauma, relationship problems, self-esteem, communication issues, PTSD, and adjustment problems.
Grant utilizes a diverse and wide ranging approach when working with clients to find what works best for them and utilizes Solution Focused, Interpersonal Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, CBT, and Person Centered approaches. Grant focuses on building a strong client/therapist relationship, working together to build steps for goals, attitude and outlook, skills clients can learn and implement to improve their overall mental health, and a positive/safe environment for clients to be open and move forward.
